If you are logging in from a Windows 2000 client, the domain authentication dialog will have three boxes that you will need to fill out with your network credential information.
When prompted for your name, enter your Microsoft network name (also often referred to as your alias).
When prompted for your password, enter your Microsoft network password.
When prompted for your domain, enter your Microsoft authentication domain.
For example, if your name is User Name and your network name (or alias) is username and your authentication domain is Redmond, then the domain authentication dialog box would look like this:
